Synopsis

Two of the creepy Bennett boys drag the body of dead McCreedy to an undisclosed location, while the third brother delivers young Loretta to Maggs Bennett. Maggs intends to keep Loretta in the dark about her “vacationing” daddy, and is already having maternal feelings for her.
Meanwhile, Raylan tracks Boyd down- he has a job as a miner. Raylan seeks assurance that Boyd will not do anything to disrupt the delicate “peace” brokered with the Cubans, and Boyd offers dubious assurances.
After Raylan and his Ex Winona are almost busted by Gary (her current husband), Raylan gets his latest assignment from Art: he and Gutterson are to escort Jamie Bergland, a pregnant inmate, to her gynecologist’s appointment. But once there, they are ambushed by Jess Timmons, a badass who, along with an accomplice, escape with Jamie. A little later, it turns out that the accomplice is a former EMT specifically hired to help Jamie give birth to the baby, which she will give up immediately afterward. But Jamie is having second thoughts about the plan.
Back at the Marshal’s office, Raylan, Art and Gutterson piece together the scenario. After Jamie’s estranged husband A.J. appears to not even know that his wife is pregnant, they figure out that Jamie was knocked up by a prison guard. Indeed, all signs point to Cosgrove, the prison guard they met earlier. When pressed, Cosgrove admits paternity, as well as enlisting Timmons to take the newborn baby and sell it on the black market.
But things go awry when Jamie tries and fails to escape Timmons. When the ex-EMT realizes that Timmons is going to kill Jamie soon as the baby is born, he frees Jamie from her bonds, then tries to subdue Timmons. But Timmons gets the upper hand and kills the EMT. Outside, Raylan and Gutterson hear the shots and bust inside, quickly figuring out where Timmons is hiding. Timmons, however, has his gun trained on Jamie’s belly. Raylan warns Timmons that he’s about to take a bullet to the brain, and sure enough, ex-Army sniper Gutterson drops him with a single shot.
In the aftermath, Raylan is visited by Cosgrove’s wife- she's shamed by her husband’s actions, and inquiring about the possible fate of the little baby. Sensing that she may make a good mother, Raylan promises to look into the possibilities for her.
That night, after Boyd seemingly has gotten into a brawl, he crawls to a familiar person’s house- Ava Crowder. She tends his wounds and experiences a thoughtful, regretful Boyd.
Raylan retreats to his hotel room, where Gary confronts him and states his intention to win his wife back. After all, Gary reminds Raylan, he stole Winona from him once before. Raylan goes inside, and has perhaps the first real conversation with Winona he’s had in a long while. For the first time, he finds himself telling her about his job...
