Maclin is a Kentucky State Trooper working with the Harlan County joint task force.
Season 3[]
Maclin is assigned to the road block aiming to apprehend federal fugitive Wade Messer. Deputy US Marshal Raylan Givens discusses Messer with Trooper Maclin at the road block. Messer is wanted on twelve counts of armed robbery, which surprises Raylan. The trooper notes that Messer once strung Raylan from a tree and beat him with a bat. Raylan corrects him; Messer was involved in hanging him by his feet but it was Dickie Bennett who swung the bat.
They spot a van turning around in the queue of waiting traffic and go to question them. The van drives over the verge and tips onto its side. Givens arrests the drive JT and learns that Messer was is the van but escaped into the woods.
